We will also discuss the steps necessary for the successful conversion of an idea to a thriving business.

Introduction to SETSquared Researcher to Innovator programme
Are you a researcher who wants to create more impact from your research? Or perhaps you have an idea or technology that you want to commercialise? If the answer is yes, then this could be the course for you. Members of the 2014 R2I cohort will be there to share their experiences.

Intellectual property
What is it? Why is it important? This seminar will cover the definition of different categories of Intellectual Property and their relevance in relation to University research. We will consider the implication of contractual terms in research collaborations particularly in relation to the University's rights to publish and to carry out further research in connection with the results of a particular research project. Finally, we will consider the University's Intellectual Property Policy.

Entrepreneurship 1: Are you an entrepreneur? (e-Learning module)
This course introduces you to the skills needed in entrepreneurship and shows how entrepreneurship fits into the academic life.

Entrepreneurship 2: Opportunity recognition, creation & evaluation (e-Learning module)
This course aims to introduce you to the nature of entrepreneurial opportunities, spot and create opportunities, help you understand and use tools for opportunity evaluation and introduce the fundamentals of business planning.

Entrepreneurship 3: resources (people, teams, finance) (e-Learning module) 
The aims of this course are to help you to think in a logical and systematic way about the resources required to start a successful new venture.
