Course code: RP00136
Topic: Engagement, influence and impact

Course description
This programme provides participants with the opportunity to gain initial training to develop selected aspects of their teaching for improving and energising learning and development in University of Bath students, through a discussion of specific issues and solutions in learning and teaching. By the end of the session, participants would have:
- identified how you can help students learn, compared with your own experiences, in Lab / Tutorial-Seminar settings
- reviewed classroom management situations and related practices, so as to build your teaching confidence
- identified how selected learning models help students to link theory with practice in Lab / Tutorial-Seminar settings
- reviewed how to evaluate student learning and to give feedback
- reviewed how to conduct classes such as Labs / Tutorials / Seminars, more effectively.
The intensive day is full of practical advice, with plenty of opportunities to discuss and practice approaches and techniques.
The intensive teaching development programme is the standard requirement for postgraduate students undertaking teaching or supporting learning, as set out in the University's Code of Practice Statement 9.
