Support for Research Staff at Bath
We are fully committed to creating a productive, supportive and enjoyable work environment for research staff. Below are a number of web pages and policies specific to research staff to support you in making the most of your time here at Bath:
Code of Practice for the Employment of Research Staff [pdf, 145KB]
We have our very own Code of Practice for the Employment of Research Staff to create a supportive, active, pervasive research culture that fosters high achievement. Research staff and managers are obliged to comply with the Code of Practice. It lists the responsibilities of the University and Principal Investigators, but also those of researchers themselves.
Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers
The Concordat is a national document that sets out the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, their managers, employers and funders. So it is a good idea to have a look at it and see what you are expected to do and what support you can expect in return! We are fully committed to implementing the Concordat at Bath and have developed a Concordat Implementation Strategy [pdf, 226KB] (updated version July 2012 [pdf 115KB]). As recognition of this the University received the 'HR excellence in research' award from the European Commission.
The European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers
The European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers are best practice guidelines. They are designed to promote equal rights and obligations for individual researchers throughout Europe by specifying the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of researchers, as well as those of funders and/or employers of researchers. They guarantee attractive research careers and improve employment and working conditions for European researchers.
