What is the National Student Survey?

http://www.thestudentsurvey.comEntering its eighth year, the National Student Survey (NSS) is a census of students in their final year of a programme leading to undergraduate credits or qualifications across the United Kingdom.

It’s your chance to have your say about what you liked and didn’t like about your student learning experience during your time in higher education. Student feedback is used to compile year on year comparative data that is:

You and your answers remain anonymous during the survey process and your contact details are only used for the purpose of the survey.
How do I take part?

Eligible students will receive an email in early February 2012, with an invitation to complete the survey online.  Non-respondents to the online survey may be followed up by post and telephone in order that we collect the views of as many students as possible.  To complete the survey, go direct to www.thestudentsurvey.com  The survey is straightforward and should take no more than five minutes to complete. The survey finishes in late April 2012.

Let's beat Loughborough...

http://www.thestudentsurvey.comLast year 72% of eligible (mainly final year undergraduates) students completed the survey, placing us nationally as one of the highest responses rates , just behind Loughborough University on 73%! Let's see if we can beat Loughborough this year... The highest response rate achieved by any University in 2011 was 78%. The highest and lowest departmental response rates for NSS 2012 by the end of Week 10 are:

NSS 2012: Top and Bttm Depts by Response Rate end of Week 12

How are the results used at the University of Bath?

http://www.thestudentsurvey.comHere at the University of Bath every academic department has been working closely with its student represenatives from the Staff Student Liaison Committee (SSLC) to develop action plans on an annual basis to further improve the already high levels of learning and teaching and the overall student experience at the institution. These action plans are monitored by the Faculty Learning, Teaching and Quality Committees (LTQCs) and the SSLCs throughout the course of the academic year.
