Providing a Tutorial Experience Within a Large Cohort
Summary:
In this example , the development of critical thinking through both face-to-face communication and computer-mediated-communciation (CMC) were compared.
An online discussion forum (within Blackboard) was used for the CMC portion of the course and was found to provide an experience similar to a small group tutorial - something that would not have been possible in a face-to-face format due to the large numbers within the student cohort.
