Feedback to students
The Feedback to students theme is a key Learning and Teaching theme, identified in the National Student Survey as a priority for both students and teaching staff.
The Director of Learning and Teaching Enhancement has prepared a guidance paper which includes:
- The principles of providing feedback to students
- A listing of practical feedback methods for both coursework and exams
- Suggestions for cutting back on marking and feedback workload
- The main points of Bath's Quality Assurance expectations regarding assessment feedback to students
- References for further information
Information is also available in the final report and summary of the TDF study 'Undergraduate experiences of external feedback processes: Feedback characteristics and motivational responses' by Dr Sam Carr, Helen Ward, & Dr Keith Bishop from the Department of Education.
We will continue to add material to this theme so watch this space!
For further guidance on this theme, a good place to look is the ASKe (Assessment Standards Knowledge exchange),which is a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) based in the Business School at Oxford Brookes University.
