Advised-on technologies
Advised-on technologies are those where the ownership and hosting lies outside the University. These might include, for example:
- social media tools
- open educational resources
- e-books
Even though we are not the owners of such tools and technologies, we can help you explore how you might embed them within your learning and teaching to better support your students. You may consider utilising such technologies to:
- facilitate more meaningful interactions between you and your students
- support group work
- enable self-assessment
- personalise learning
The availability of such tools and technologies is wide and varied. We have experience of advising on many which you may find of interest including:
- audio feedback with Audacity
- blogging with WordPress
- collaborating with Google Drive
- digital pens
- e-books
- notetaking and archiving with Evernote
- OERs (open educational resources)
- sharing presentations with SlideShare
- social media to enhance learning
- tablets and mobile devices
