The Bristol Region Building Record (BRBR) was established in 1962 by the School of Architecture at the Bristol College of Science and Technology. When the College became the University of Bath, the BRBR broadened its scope to include Bath and other parts of the South West.There have not been any additions to the BRBR since December 1999 when it was transferred to the Library from the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering.

The BRBR comprises photographs, illustrations, architectural drawings, plans, text extracts and maps relating to the buildings of Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire originally assembled as a teaching and learning resource for students.

Acquired mainly during the 1960s and 1970s, many of the photographs and drawings in this collection relate to buildings of local, regional and national architectural significance which have drastically changed in appearance or which no longer survive.

This collection is not yet fully catalogued.
