Health Databases
To find details of the most relevant articles and conference papers from across thousands of journal titles, you need to search a number of databases (no single database covers all relevant literature). When you find a reference of interest within a database, click on the Links button to find out whether the Library provides access to the full document, either online or within the Library's print collection.

- Web of Knowledge: broad subject coverage - simultaneously searches Web of Science (1945 onwards), Medline (1950+) & BIOSIS Previews (1926+) -

- Opus: repository of journal/conference papers, theses & other research undertaken by the University of Bath academics & researchers
- SPORTDiscus: to retrieve articles of higher quality, select the peer-reviewed option within SPORTDiscus - this database covers all aspects of sport including medicine, performance, science & management from 1975 onwards; theses from 1949 -

- International Bibliography of the Social Science (IBSS) - and alternative version - journal articles & books from 1951 onwards relating to anthropology, economics & sociology
- Lexis Library: UK case law, legislation & law journals

- MIT CogNet: cognitive science material: books, conference proceedings, journals, reference works & videos
- PsycEXTRA: broad range of mental health & psychology: mostly full-text documents written by professionals but not found in journals
- Social Policy and Practice: simultaneously searches databases including AgeInfo, ChildData & Social Care Online - large proportion of references relate to grey literature e.g. reports, legislation, government documents, organisations, policies, press coverage & service user knowledge - focuses on applied research & practice
