Hounds for Heroes

Wednesday 2 May
Lecture Theatre 8W 1.1

Hounds for Heroes came about after Chief Petty Officer Allen Parton suffered brain damage in a car accident, was given an Assistance Dog and to put it in his own words: "There I was paraplegic, brain-damaged, dyslexic, forgetful, unsuitable for Military Service and often very grumpy but my life turned round from misery and gloom to pride and achievement in just a couple of years.  Where psychologists, therapists and doctors had all failed a very talented Labrador had changed my world and made my life worth living again".  Endal was his dog, who became famous for using a Cash Machine!  So Hounds for Heroes was born.
