Widening Participation Office
The Widening Participation Office is responsible for developing and strengthening the University’s relationships with partner higher education institutions, schools, and further education colleges to promote access and achieve a more diverse and socially inclusive student population.
The Office runs a number of Higher Education workshops which are designed to give potential students a taste of higher education and encourage participation which complement the very popular, over-subscribed Summer School held by the University in partnership with the universities of Exeter and Bristol, which is specifically aimed at students from families without a background in Higher Education. It also works closely with a number of Partner Organisations in the region to deliver Foundation Degree programmes and Honours Years in a range of subject areas.
The establishment of the Widening Participation Office follows the disestablishment of the Division for Lifelong Learning on 30 September 2012. For further information contact 01225 383422. Details of the former Division Committees can be found below.
