Alumni in Botswana met to elect a committee under the leadership of Mmabaledi Seeletso (MA Education 2004) and are planning their first event.  Please email us if you would like to take part or know more.

Toronto

The Toronto Chapter, launched at a drinks reception in Toronto in November 2009, will allow alumni living in the Greater Toronto Area or those who wish to travel to Toronto to meet up. Two of our alumni, Rose D’Souza and Stephanie Martin, have generously offered to help lead the chapter and they canvassed all of the alumni at the launch event to gather suggestions for future events. A casual drinks reception is being held in May and plans for a Facebook group are underway. For more information you can contact the Chapter leaders at torontochapter@alumni.bath.ac.uk.

Ottawa

Alumni in Ottawa are also meeting for drinks in May; this is the first time our alumni will get together in this city.  All are welcome

Shanghai

The Bath University Alumni Group, Shanghai is creating a programme of social reunions and events. The group will meet regularly for different social events and will aim to take part in UK alumni monthly gatherings. Irene Cheng, the group co-ordinator, has created an MSN group for the Shanghai Chapter; please email for more details and Irene’s contact information.

Beijing

We are currently working with alumni in Beijing to set up a group in the city for everybody who went to the University of Bath. Alumni had an enjoyable initial meeting and plan further events soon. Please contact Diana or Suzanne if you are interested in a Beijing group.

British Council China Alumni UK Network

As a partner of the British Council in China’s Alumni UK Network we invite all School alumni to take advantage of the 13,000 strong network of people who graduated from a UK university who now live or work in China. Launched in 1993, this network provides both social and business networking opportunities all across China.{ ...more info }

Athens

The Greek Chapter of the University of Bath alumni community was launched in 2009 and has been growing in size and strength since then. The group aims to create a mutually beneficial networking platform for all Bath graduates and has already organised some very successful events attracting more than 100 alumni. The organisation committee plans to organise a diverse range of events each year thus promoting the life long learning and success of Bath alumni through the exchange of knowledge, opportunities and resources.

Hong Kong

The relaunch of our Hong Kong chapter was a great success, thanks to the leadership and organisation of Winnie Chow, Chris Lau, Patrick Yu and Tom Wang. Over 40 alumni gathered at trendy G bar to welcome home our 2009 graduates. Several other social events have been held since and plans are to build on this success. Delhi

The Indian Chapter of the University of Bath alumni network was launched with an inaugural event at the Imperial Hotel in Delhi. Chapter leaders, Abhishek Gupta (who has been instrumental in setting up the Chapter), Aditya Bhatia and Karishma Samtani, were elected for the first term at the event and plans for a collaborative online community were made.
Dr Wendy Butler hosted an informal reception at the High Commission Bungalow for the second India chapter meeting.  Ms Aruna Sharma very generously hosted dinner in May, which was widely enjoyed by alumni.

Mumbai

University of Bath alumni living or working in the Mumbai area met in January at a dinner hosted by Dr Ajit Nayak, Director of International Relations (India) and plan to continue meeting informally. If you are interested in joining the chapter please contact the Alumni Team.

Kolkata

The University of Bath hosted a dinner for alumni in the Kolkata area in March 2009 to give our alumni the opportunity to meet and catch up on news from the University and from each other.  If you would like to meet up with Bath alumni in Kolkata, please email the Alumni Team.

Tokyo

University of Bath alumni in Tokyo is a growing chapter who regularly host events which are often attended by Yoshiko Shimizu (Director of Studies, MAIT) and Zoe Whittle from the International Office.

Almaty

Dr Ian Crawford hosted the now annual dinner in Almaty for our growing number of alumni in Kazakhstan.  If you would like to meet up with fellow alumni or join the dinner next year, email us in the alumni office.

Oslo

Chapter leaders Anne Tryggeset, Fred Harboe and Arne Melsom welcomed our alumni in Norway to the launch meeting in March 2010.  “Speed networking” was a great success and plans are to look at different types of events, including online seminars and an annual meet-up.  For more information email us.

Seoul

The chapter was launched in November 2008 with an inaugural dinner hosted by Dr Alicia Kim from the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University. Plans were made for annual meetings of the chapter but they all hope to be able to meet more frequently in future.

Cary Adams (Modular MBA, 2002) and Development Manager Hannah Joyce from the University of Bath welcomed alumni in the Geneva area to a dinner in early May.  Encouraged by the success of this first event in Switzerland, they are now planning a second event later in the summer.  For more details, please email the University alumni office.

Taipei

A Taiwan chapter was introduced at a networking event hosted by Professor Klaus Meyer in Taipei in December 2008. The alumni who indicated they were interested in taking a leading role within the chapter are working with the Management Alumni Team on planning chapter activity. British Council China Alumni UK Network

BRAIN (British Alumni Interactive Network) is exclusively designed for UK alumni in Taiwan. Register on-line to access their password protected website at and make use of the find-your-friend search engine and many other functions. All registered alumni will be issued with a BRAIN card which entitles cardholders to special discount and other benefit on various services provided by the British Council Taipei. They also organise regular events for alumni, such as parties and career fairs, to help you stay in touch, exchange ideas and make the most of your UK education.

Istanbul

Bath graduates in Turkey were invited to meet the alumni office to discuss setting up a chapter. During a most enjoyable evening, plans were started to develop this chapter and if you would like to be part of this, please email us.

New York

Chapter leaders, Jennifer Smith and Vivian Ching, are planning future events following a variety of successful events in the city. Further information about the Chapter can be found on their newly re-launched website.
