The Toronto Chapter, launched at a drinks reception in Toronto in November 2009, will allow alumni living in the Greater Toronto Area or those who wish to travel to Toronto to meet up. Two of our alumni, Rose D’Souza and Stephanie Martin, have generously offered to help lead the chapter and they canvassed all of the alumni at the launch event to gather suggestions for future events. The Bath University Alumni Group, Shanghai is creating a programme of social reunions and events. The group will meet regularly for different social events and will aim to take part in UK alumni monthly gatherings. The Greek Chapter of the University of Bath alumni community was launched in 2009 and has been growing in size and strength since then. The group aims to create a mutually beneficial networking platform for all Bath graduates and has already organised some very successful events attracting more than 100 alumni. The organisation committee plans to organise a diverse range of events each year thus promoting the life long learning and success of Bath alumni through the exchange of knowledge, opportunities and resources. The relaunch of our Hong Kong chapter was a great success, thanks to the leadership and organisation of Winnie Chow, Chris Lau, Patrick Yu and Tom Wang. Over 40 alumni gathered at trendy G bar to welcome home our 2009 graduates. Several other social events have been held since and plans are to build on this success. The Indian Chapter of the University of Bath alumni network was launched with an inaugural event at the Imperial Hotel in Delhi. Chapter leaders, Abhishek Gupta (who has been instrumental in setting up the Chapter), Aditya Bhatia and Karishma Samtani, were elected for the first term at the event and plans for a collaborative online community were made. Chapter leaders Anne Tryggeset, Fred Harboe and Arne Melsom welcomed our alumni in Norway to the launch meeting in March 2010. “Speed networking” was a great success and plans are to look at different types of events, including online seminars and an annual meet-up. For more information email us. |

The chapter was launched in November 2008 with an inaugural dinner hosted by Dr Alicia Kim from the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University. Cary Adams (Modular MBA, 2002) and Development Manager Hannah Joyce from the University of Bath welcomed alumni in the Geneva area to a dinner in early May. A Taiwan chapter was introduced at a networking event hosted by Professor Klaus Meyer in Taipei in December 2008. The alumni who indicated they were interested in taking a leading role within the chapter are working with the Management Alumni Team on planning chapter activity.
