'Students on campus'What happens next?

After you have sent your completed form to UCAS, it is forwarded to our admissions staff. It is then carefully considered before a decision is made. Your exam results, predicted grades, personal statement and referee's report will all be looked at when reviewing your application. The focus of the admissions tutors is not only on the academic standard of the applicant but also on other extra-curricular skills and experience you may have.

Once we have made our decision, UCAS will send you confirmation of it. If your application is successful you will be invited to an Open Day.

Open Days

The University runs general Open Days in June and September. These are open to everyone.  If you have received an offer, you will be invited to a School of Management open day between February and April, where you will be able to find out more about the programme, the School and the staff, and meet some of the students.

Clearing

Every year the School receives a high number of excellent applications for its programmes, making each place highly competitive. As a result of this the School of Management programmes do not go into Clearing.

Deferring entry

Here at the School of Management we look positively upon a gap year, provided the year is spent constructively. We are happy to defer entry for students looking to take part in voluntary or paid work experience and/or travel. We find students benefit from increased maturity and have a better idea of what they want to do at university after a 'year out'. If you wish to defer your place you may use your personal statement to explain your reasons why and your plans. Do not worry if you are unsure - there is still plenty of time to decide and we impose no time deadline on students wishing to defer.
