The Bath Executive Development

Our approach begins with developing a full understanding of your organisational learning and development requirements.  We will work closely with you to ensure that we offer a tailor-made solution for the challenges you face.

Impact-driven

Based on our underlying passion to make a real difference, our programmes equip executives with the skills to sustain lifelong learning, benefiting organisations beyond the programme and into the future.  Our evidence-based approach to leadership learning is designed to maximise sustainable behavioural change and the transfer of learning to the workplace. For example:

Collaborative

We work closely with key stakeholders of the programme throughout all stages from diagnosing the precise learning needs, collaboratively designing the content and learning methods, through to evaluating the impact of learning on the organisation.

Flexible

The programmes are 100% tailored to the needs of the commissioning organisation, based on a robust consultation process and collaborative design.

Innovative

With our collective experience in leadership development in a wide variety of public and private sector organisations, we are able to offer the quality of learning experience you would expect from a business school of our calibre, but also some of the more innovative approaches to learning such as community-based action learning or Open Space technology.

We offer total flexibility in all aspects of our customised programmes and are happy to work with you in identifying appropriate learning environments and facilities.

HMRC

HMRC

We have worked with senior leaders within HMRC on building trust within their organisation.  This has involved a number of workshops where senior leaders have examined the current behaviours and culture within HMRC and identified ways to create and encourage sustainable change in order to improve and build trust throughout the organisation.  The workshops were developed as a result of the findings of Professor Veronica Hope Hailey’s research which examined the Repair of Trust following the financial crisis.  This research culminated in a report for the CIPD, Where has all the trust gone? which was based on research within 14 organisations including the John Lewis Partnership, GKN, Norton Rose, HMRC and a banking group.  “The workshops are supporting our engagement approach and building trust in senior leaders. This is a fantastic and unique opportunity that is helping and supporting other interventions to improve leadership across HMRC. Our experiences should certainly help other organisations facing similar challenges to building trust in senior leaders.”

William Meehan, Head of HR Policy Team (HR Ops), HMRC

QinetiQ

QinetiQ

“The School of Management partnered with QinetiQ on the Core Graduate Development Programme for three years, working closely with the QinetiQ senior leaders and technical specialists to develop a robust programme incorporating business context from an evolving organisation. The modular approach allowed for regular redefinition of content and continues to attract high quality graduates to us each year.”

Lianne Denton, Graduate Development Programme Manager, QinetiQ

Halcrow

Halcrow

“Halcrow wanted to develop an entirely new management development programme…the Bath team worked with us in identifying critical development issues and refining them to meet the needs of our middle management. More importantly, that same team worked with us throughout to adapt the content to reflect specific needs, with the programme receiving consistently high ratings.”

Neil Holt, Group Board Director, Halcrow Group Limited
