Director of Executive Development

"I have worked with many clients in Executive Development and Organisational Change, including Virgin Atlantic, National Grid, BT Openreach, Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital, United Utilities, and HMRC. I have also held senior roles in diverse organisations such as BAE Systems, WPP Group, Morgan Stanley and Pearson, and my last corporate role was as the HR Director for easyJet.

I completed my PhD at Bath, investigating how people make sense of organisational change through storytelling.

I have degrees in Aeronautical Engineering, Psychology and an MBA, and have co-authored two management books, with my second, Managing Talented People, now available in five languages. I am a qualified business coach, and a Master Practitioner in NLP. I volunteer as a Trustee of the Refugee Council, the UK's leading charity supporting and protecting refugees and asylum seekers, and am a Visiting Professor at Cass Business School."

"I joined the School of Management in January 2007 as Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research and became Dean in November 2008.

I have developed consumer insight and brand strategies for a wide range of companies including BT, Capital One Bank, P&O Cruises, Diageo, Unilever, Coors Brewers (Bass) and as an Expert Witness for ASDA on Brands and Consumer Psychology."

“I am Professor of Operations and Supply Management at the School of Management and Head of Group for the Information, Decisions and Operations subject area. I have worked with numerous organisations including Morgan Stanley, RBS, John Lewis Partnership, BMW, Rolls- Royce, QinetiQ, DVLA and IBM.

Before coming to Bath in 2004, I was senior lecturer at Warwick Business School and research fellow at the Cambridge Manufacturing Institute. I have spent time as a visiting researcher at Harvard and a Visiting Professor at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University.”

Before working within the higher education sector, I held several senior direct marketing posts with a number of leading UK publishing companies including Pearson Education and EMAP.”

“Prior to taking on the Directorship of the MBA at Bath (2005-2007), I qualified as a Chartered Psychologist in South Africa and then went on to receive my PhD in Organizational Knowledge. I have worked as a Human Resources Consultant with a number of blue-chip organisations.

My executive development expertise is in the areas of leadership styles, personal effectiveness in the context of people management and the management of professionals.”

“I am Professor of Leadership and Change within two Departments of the University of Bath, the School of Management and the School for Health. In addition to my academic role, I have worked as an international consultant in organisational learning and organisation development.

I was an Associate Consultant with the International Institute for Organizational Change (IOC), Geneva; the Ashridge Consulting Group and the International Forum for Social Innovation (IFSI) in Paris. Corporate clients have included: Thames Water, Hyder plc, Electricité de France/ Gaz de France, Hewlett-Packard, Glaxo and Ericsson.

I have advised Senior Management Teams in both the private and public sectors. My recent work with Health Service organisations has focused on transforming leadership practice through action learning.”
