Since the summer of 2010, Chris has been Lead Supply Chain Engagement Manager for EDF Energy's Nuclear New Build Programme in the UK. With over 40 years' experience in construction and civil engineering procurement in both contractor and client roles, Chris gained a Master of Business Administration at the University of Birmingham. Prior to joining EDF, Chris has spent time working with Costain, Carillion, Wimpey Construction, GlaxoSmithKline, London Underground and the Metropolitan Police Service.

Nigel Whitehead, Group Managing Director, BAE Systems

Nigel was appointed Group Managing Director of Programmes and Support, one of three Global Operating Groups in BAE Systems, in 2008. In this role he has responsibility for UK Businesses including Maritime, Military Air & Information, Combat Vehicles (UK), UK Munitions and the Group's Shared Services operations. These businesses deliver over £6bn turnover predominantly in UK defence but also in international markets.

Nigel is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has been active in defence programmes including design, development, production and support for 30 years, working in the UK, Sweden and Australia.

Prior to joining British Aerospace as an aerodynamicist, Nigel worked for Rolls-Royce for four years as a production engineering apprentice and graduated in mechanical engineering.

Simon joined Cavendish Nuclear at the beginning of November 2015 taking up the appointment as Managing Director.

Previously, Simon was Managing Director of URENCO UK Ltd from November 2010 until September 2015. He has extensive experience in the petrochemical and energy sectors including maritime nuclear. Simon joined URENCO from his own Consultancy Company where he was involved in private equity led renewable energy projects and company turnarounds. Prior to this Simon's corporate experience was gained in BP where he spent 15 years in a variety of senior business, operational and functional roles.

Simon has also combined his business interests with supporting the regional economic development in Cheshire and South Wales through direct support to SMEs and business education for budding entrepreneurs.

Throughout his career, Simon's passion for improving safety performance has dominated his business results. This commitment to Zero Harm has consistently delivered a significant reduction in injuries and a cultural shift in employee and contractor engagement.

Chris Tierney, Executive Vice President, Projects, Systems & Supply Chain - Nuclear, Rolls-Royce plc

Chris joined Rolls-Royce in 2009 and is currently Executive Vice-President for the Projects, Systems & Supply Chain (PSSC) business within our Nuclear Sector, which is primarily focussed on the UK and International New Build Market. He also holds the functional role as Head of Purchasing and Supply Management for the Nuclear Sector, and is based in the UK (Derby location).

Chris has a wealth of experience ( ~ 30 years ) in General Management, Operations, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management leadership across several Industrial Sectors ( including Steel, Automotive, Aerospace, and Nuclear), gained within a number of Blue-Chip Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing organisations.

After graduating from Manchester University (Metals and Materials Engineering faculty) Chris began his career at British Steel before moving through increasingly senior leadership roles within Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK and TRW Aeronautical Systems (formerly Lucas Aerospace).

Immediately prior to joining Rolls-Royce Chris held a number of Senior global Purchasing and Supply Chain Operations Management roles at Goodrich Corporation (now UTC), based both in the UK and USA during his tenure.

Phil Anderson - Project Manager

Phil is an independent facilitator, consultant and researcher in leadership development, innovation and operations management. He is an Associate at the University of Bath, School of Management.

Phil worked at Ashridge Business School for 19 years as a member of faculty and Client Director and during this time, he organised numerous visits to organisations, to understand more about operations, organisational culture, leadership and innovation. He is currently writing a book called "Inside Innovation" to help middle managers understand how to be successful innovators. Before Ashridge, he was Operations Director of various manufacturing units in the UK, Canada and Singapore.

Claire Phipps - Business Development Manager | Executive Education

Claire has over 10 years' experience as a Business Development Manager, previously working for a Global Information Provider, with responsibility for multi million pound contracts for the NHS and NICE. Prior to this she headed up a customer service team at Blackwell Information Services, with responsibility for major financial institutions.

Charlotte McKnight-Burton - Executive Education Officer & PA to Director of Executive Education & Bath, London

Charlotte has 10 years' experience as a PA and conference administrator. She has worked both in the UK and internationally up to Board level, most recently working in Perth, Western Australia where she was PA/EA for the Board of Directors and senior management at several Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) listed Mining Exploration Companies.

Each of our masterclasses will be led by a distinguished member of the University of Bath, School of Management faculty. Professor Veronica Hope-Hailey - Dean of the School of Management

Veronica Hope Hailey is Professor of Management Studies and Dean of the School of Management. Veronica has worked for over 20 years on issues around strategic change in organisations, using her expertise in strategy and change, and HRM and change, to develop successful senior executive programmes in this field. She co-authored the bestselling textbook Exploring Strategic Change, and has recently co-authored a report for the CIPD on Landing Transformational Change.

Veronica's recent research has focused on employee engagement, and trust and trustworthiness.

Professor Mike Lewis - Professor of Operations and Supply Management

Professor Michael Lewis is Professor of Operations and Supply Management. His current research interests include the (digital) transformation of professional/knowledge-intensive work and operations strategy practice.

He is currently a visiting professor at Danish Technical University and has been a visiting researcher at Harvard Business School and a Visiting Professor at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University. Michael works as a teacher and consultant with many public and private organisations including John Lewis Partnership, NHS, DEFRA, BMW, Rolls-Royce, IBM and Intel.

Professor Jens Roehrich - Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Management

Dr Iain Davies - Senior Lecturer in Marketing

Dr Iain Davies is Senior Lecturer in Marketing. Ian consults, lectures and researches in Key Account Management, Sales, and Marketing Ethics. Iain has extensive commercial experience in professional services marketing including as a Strategic Consultant with Accenture and as a Legal Policy Advisor in the Banking Sector for HMCE. He has extensive experience working with major professional service firms.

Our coach/mentors are drawn from a specialised group of individual who have significant experience and expertise in helping people improve their performance within the SME sector. Their knowledge, learning and specialist support is a critical element of the programme in ensuring transfer of learning and improving the productivity, and helping to stimulate entrepreneurial thinking and behaviour. John McGillivray

John McGillivray has a strong international dimension to his diverse career.

Starting off his working career John worked as a technician, providing him with the fundamental understanding of his products and what his customers need. This knowledge and experience was invaluable as his career subsequently pursued a commercial and business management direction. At some stage during the next 20 years he managed businesses in India, Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia. In 2015 he returned to the UK as Commercial and Marketing Director (EMEA) of an AIM listed biotech business.

Recently John established RCD Business Acceleration, focussing on working with clients in the SME sector who are seeking to move their business forwards.
