Job Title:

Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor

Subject Group:

Organisation Studies

Key Research Interests:

Power and Dependence, Leadership, Top Management Teams

Research Interests

My research interests centre on issues of power and dependence in work teams, the effects of different types of leadership in organisations, and how top management teams impact organisational processes and outcomes. Besides this, I am also interested in other topics such as diversity and aging, innovation and learning, or the effects of HRM practices and systems.
In my research I use quantitative methods (e.g., Regression, Structural Equation Modelling, Instrumental Variable Approach, Multilevel Analyses, etc.) to explore relationships on various levels of analysis (i.e., relational, individual, team, and organisation levels). My research is mainly done via surveys and questionnaires in team and companies.

My research has been published in top peer-reviewed journal such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, andHuman Relations. I have also presented my work at international peer-reviewed conferences, such as the Academy of Management Conference and the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychologists Conference. To make my work more accessible I strive to publish in practitioners outlets.

PhD Supervision

I welcome PhD applications from prospective students interested in conducting quantitative field research in areas related to my areas of expertise. Examples of topics are:
