Job Title:

Senior Lecturer in Finance

Division:

Accounting, Finance & Law

Key Research Interests:

Corporate finance, behavioural economics/finance.

Research Interests

Ufuk’s primary research area is corporate finance. He has a particular interest in initial public offerings (IPOs). His research examines the cyclical nature of IPO activity and the formation of hot issue markets. He has also researched on adverse selection in IPO markets, with an emphasis on the issues of signalling and winner's curse.

Some of Ufuk’s recent projects are within the area of behavioural economics/finance. These projects focus on how reinforcement learning and various behavioural biases (overconfidence, disposition effect, etc.) jointly influence financial decisions of individuals.

PhD Supervision

I am interested in receiving PhD queries from students who possess strong quantitative skills and who are good in academic writing. I would be interested in supervising topics that are broadly aligned with my research interests.
