Accommodation

On-campus Postgraduate Accommodation

Postgraduates on our business courses at Bath enjoy living in our most modern complexes, the majority of which have been built in the last five years. Polden Court and Woodland are on campus and its boundary, and offer superior accommodation in peaceful surroundings. All Polden Court rooms have full ensuite shower/bathrooms and a television, and Woodland offers a variety of standard and ensuite rooms as well as several large self-contained studios that include a small kitchenette.

Priority for University residence is given to non-European Union postgraduates (this includes MSc students) who are new to Bath. Demand for rooms is high so you are strongly advised to apply as early as possible and by 31 July at the very latest. You will be invited to apply online once you have confirmed acceptance of your offer on one of our MSc programmes and have paid the relevant fee deposit.

Off-campus University Accommodation

The off-site senior complexes have room types to suit different budgets, all on a self-catering basis, all are conveniently located in the city of Bath within a short walk of the main shopping precincts and a direct bus route to the University (bus journey is approximately 10 minutes). University managed housing comprise variable-size cluster flats or kitchen groups and each complex has its own individual character. Many rooms have en-suite facilities, others share communal shower/bathroom facilities and all are grouped around a communal kitchen/dining room. More information about University run off-campus accommodation is available. Prices vary depending on the standard of accommodation chosen.

Private Sector Accommodation

Some MSc students live in private sector accommodation in the city centre or surrounding villages. The Accommodation Office maintains a regularly updated database of private sector accommodation including self-catering lodgings, flats and houses advertised with them by private landlords. Anyone intending to live in private sector accommodation is strongly advised to come to Bath well in advance of the start of term to make the necessary arrangements, particularly if they are seeking family accommodation. Low cost campus accommodation is usually available during the summer vacation until mid-September and reservations can be made by email or Tel. + 44(0) 1225 383111.

The Students' Union also organises a house-hunting weekend in mid-August to help new postgraduates meet each other and form groups for housesharing.

Cost of living

You also need to budget for your accommodation and living expenses. The student money service provides a comprehensive and confidential service to all students. They publish a wealth of information such as tips on budgeting, to advice on increasing income and guidance on where funds might be available.
