Dr Krista Bondy

Dr Krista Bondy

Director of Studies for the in MSc Sustainability and Management
Lecturer in Corporate Social Responsibility
Key research interests: Corporate Social Responsibility

I have worked on a range of corporate social responsibility/ sustainability consulting projects while completing my MEDes with the University of Calgary, and my MRes and PhD with Nottingham University, culminating in over 8 years of academic and practical experience in this area.  My research, consulting and teaching activities focus broadly on corporate social responsibility/sustainability strategy, how organizations govern (CSR/sustainability in particular), how they implement these strategies in light of their governance approach, and more recently in the overlap between CSR/sustainability and marketing.  In particular my work investigates how CSR is shaped and acted upon by individuals and groups, how such things as power affect these activities, and how to encourage increased responsible action by individuals and organizations.

My current research is investigating the intention-behaviour gap within sustainability, and a political model of marketing accountability.

Key research interests: Business Society and Business Economics

My main research interests are in corporate governance, environmental management, institutional theory and stakeholder management. I am interested in how institutional influences shape firm governance as reflected in corporate board demography. I have conducted extensive research into the prevalence of women corporate board directors and the impact of national, industry and firm level determinants in engendering demographically diverse corporate boards of directors. I am currently involved in research relating to firm structure and environmental management, delineating conceptual parameters around institutional theory and evaluating the implications of social policy for corporate board level outcomes.

Dr Stefan Hoejmose

Lecturer in CSR and Strategy
Key research interests: Business, Society and Business Economics

My PhD research was concerned with strategic management and the role of business strategy in shaping firms’ social and environmental initiatives within global supply chains.

In addition to the work of my PhD, I am also looking at the role of trust and collaboration in implementing responsible supply chain practices, and I recently undertook a NBS funded systematic review of the literature to examine how firms can implement, ensure and monitor responsible practices, in particular with a focus on how these activities differs between developed and developing countries.

I am currently also working on an EABIS funded project, where the aim is to learn from corporate experience on how best to implement socially and environmentally responsible supply chain practices

In addition, my current research interest lies in the area of environmental management and SMEs, and the influence of unionization on corporate social performance.
