Structure and content
Programme Structure
- Full-time programme lasting 12 months
- Divided into two semesters and the dissertation period
- Taught courses last for one semester and the summer months are dedicated to the dissertation
In Semester 1 you will study four compulsory units and one optional unit. The compulsory units are:
- The Global Environment of Business (spans both semesters)
- International Business Strategy
- Cross-Cultural Management
- Analysing International Management
The optional units include: Power, Order and Institutions in World Politics; International Relations Theories; Strategic Global Marketing; Decision Making; The European Union as a Global Economic Actor; Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
For students with advanced understanding of a particular language, you can also choose a language module: French, German or Spanish, delivered by the University’s department of Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies
In Semester 2 you will study one compulsory units and four optional units: The compulsory unit is:
- Analysing International Management
The optional units are currently:

- Innovation, industrialisation & international competitiveness
- Financial management for international business
- Project management
- Supply management
- Business in emerging markets
- Corporate social responsibility in an international context
- Economic governance, competitiveness and policy
- Environmental management
- Global governance and accountability
List B
Students with advanced understanding of a particular language can also choose a language module: French, German or Spanish.
Dissertation
During the final three months of the degree you will produce a dissertation. This is your opportunity to explore a particular topic that has been covered during the programme in far greater depth.
