School of Management opens new dedicated student centre
On the 8th February, the School of Management officially opened its new student centre, which offers undergraduate and MSc students a dedicated area for both study and socialising.
The new centre was officially opened by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching), Professor Bernie Morley. The Dean of the School of Management, Professor Richard Elliott invited staff and students attending the opening to take a closer look at the new facilities.
The new space consists of six group-work rooms that can accommodate up to six students each – vital for group work; a Common Room for socialising and working which provides seating for up to 75 students; a new wireless network hub; power and network points for laptops; 20 computers, and vending machines.
Dr Niall Piercy, Director of Studies for the BSc in Business Administration, said:
“This new facility represents a major investment by the School of Management in further improving the student experience. Giving our students this room to work and socialise brings them closer to the School, whilst helping them with their studies and providing space for relaxing between lectures.”
Development of the new student area was part-funded by the School of Management’s Corporate Partners: PwC, Intel, Zurich, 3M, BP and P&G.
