International MSc students from the School of Management are enjoying a new way of practicing their English language skills with The Conversation Club.

The Club, organised by the School’s Student Experience Officers, runs on Thursdays and is open to all International students in the School of Management. It aims to help them improve their conversational English skills and build confidence in an informal setting while developing new friendships and encouraging cultural exchange.

Conversations are led in small groups by volunteers on different topics from food to national holidays. Any native English speaker can join the team of volunteers and enrich their CV, learn about other cultures, and meet new people.

BBA student Natasha said:
"I volunteered to learn about other cultures and customs, make new friends, help those with problems with English and to have fun!
I think the club is a great opportunity to share experiences and gain new perspectives and opinions while being able to have a good old chit chat!"

Hot beverages and snacks are provided for everyone who comes along. The Club takes place every Thursday throughout term-time at 1.15pm in 8W1.32. If you are interested in either becoming a volunteer or are an International student who would like to practise your English and meet new people then contact either Gemma Bridges, or Eliza Shaw,
