MSc Winter Social 2011The School of Management PG Events Committee organised a Winter Social that took place on 6th December 2011 at the historic Assembly Rooms in Bath. The event celebrated the end of the first term by bringing over 150 students and staff from all six MSc programmes together for the first time since induction week.

Jo Cutts of the MSc support team said:
"There was a really great turn out and it was a fantastic end to the term. It's certainly whetted my appetite for future Committee-organised events"

Other events organised by the Committee have included a 'Global Night', held in December, where attendees brought along a dish of food from their home country. It was a great evening of inter-cultural exchange, celebrating the diverse cultures represented across the MSc programmes. There are two further Global Nights planned, with the next one taking place in February.

Notes to Editors

The PG Events Committee is student-led and was formed in September 2011. The Committee organises events throughout the year aimed at engaging PG students in their ‘student community’ and celebrating the benefits of studying in an international setting. It has 21 members with 9 key members from 5 MSc programmes who meet weekly to organise events for PG students in the School. The Committee is chaired by the School's Student Experience Officers. A number of MSc students involved in this Committee are also signed up for The Bath Award; the Committee and the events it organises can count towards their 300 hours of volunteering.

If you are interested in joining the Committee, then please contact Gemma Bridges, Student Experience Officer at g.l.bridges@bath.ac.uk, and to be the first to find out about our events find us on Facebook.
