Bath MBA programme awarded CIPS Accreditation

The University of Bath School of Management has been awarded Chartered Status for its MBA by the Chartered Institution of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). The Bath MBA is now a globally recognised postgraduate qualification for CIPS members seeking chartered status.

Out of 99 UK universities offering MBA programmes, only two have been awarded Chartered Status by CIPS, putting Bath in the top 2% of UK business schools.

CIPS is the largest professional institution for purchasing, supply and procurement professionals in the world with over 120,000 members, dedicated to promote best practice.

In 1992, CIPS was awarded the Royal Charter in recognition for their leading role in supporting and furthering the interests of the purchasing and supply industry.

CIPS provides a wide range of services for the benefit of members and the wider business community.

CIPS aims to promote and develop high standards of professional skill, ability, and integrity among all those engaged in purchasing and supply chain management.

Dr. Jens Roehrich, Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Management, said:

We are delighted to be one of the first universities in the UK to be awarded, the Chartered Status for our MBA by the Chartered Institution of Procurement & Supply. CIPS is the largest professional institution for purchasing. From September 2015 the Bath MBA has been accredited as a route towards CIPS Chartered Status reflecting the high-quality teaching and leading-edge research around purchasing and supply management areas in the School of Management. The route to Chartered Status will offer a highly sought after professional qualification for MBAs passionate about purchasing, supply management and procurement.
