The School of Management Student Association (SoMSA) began its second year with an exclusive Media Masterclass on October 20.

Selling out upon ticket release, the masterclass was lectured by Global Media Director of Mars Chocolate, Marc Zander.

The event was held on campus and Mr Zander gave a hugely informative and exciting lecture, with the occasional treat of chocolate from Mars Inc.

The lecture was followed by an interactive hour-long Q&A session. Mr Zander was keen for the students to learn as much as possible.

One of the attendees said how interesting it was to see how creative campaigns can normalise societal issues such as disabilities. Mars Chocolate UK have recently launched an award-winning series of adverts for its Maltesers brand that champion diversity and disability.

Alex Butterworth, Managing Director of SoMSA, commented:

This event has been a fantastic way to kick-off the year. It's thanks to the dedicated efforts of our SoMSA team members that we've had such success. It's also been great to work with partners across the university including The Edge, the Operations Team, Imaging Design & Print Services, and the School of Management.
SoMSA is a co-curricular student-led body, created to increase employability, enrich the learning experience and support student enterprise. To make sure our students get the best out of their time here at Bath, we've come together to create a group where all 2500 members of our student community are at the core of what we do. We host a range of formal and informal events to improve your employability as well as to promote connections with industry leaders.
