MBA students on graduationWelcome to the class of 2009
In June we celebrated the graduation of the undergraduate class and the Executive MBA class of 2009. Justin King, CEO of Sainsbury's and BBA graduate class of 1983, was also awarded an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration. (more)

Daniel SpencerIMML graduate wins prize for IMEA essay competition
BSc in International Management and Modern Languages (IMML) graduate Daniel Spencer won first prize for an essay on environmental issues in a competition organised by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). (more)


Winning MBA team, arkhiveDigital archiving idea wins MBA business plan prize
In June MBA students showcased their business ideas in the culmination of this year’s Santander sponsored Entrepreneurship in Action project, an integral part of the Bath MBA programme.

The winning team, Arkhive, presented a consumer service that would gather and store various personal media, such as CDs, photos, videos and vinyl records, and put them into a single digitalised package, giving easy access to precious memories that can be easily shared with family and friends. The Times Good University Guide logoBath ranked 1st for Accounting and Finance
The Times Good University Guide 2010, has ranked the School of Management first in the UK for Accounting and Finance. This impressive result places us at the top of 76 institutions offering the subject. (more)

What's happened to British manufacturing? Professor Andrew Graves speaking at the June MBA Master Class
Local MBA alumni and prospective MBA students attended a fascinating lecture on the history and future of the British manufacturing industry in June. MBA alumni enjoyed the opportunity to hear Professor Andrew Graves, who has affiliations with the oldest and largest automobile research consortium (IMVP), and to share their own experiences in a thought provoking discussion (more)

New York Chapter leaders meet HRH Prince Andrew at British ConsulateBath alumni at British Consulate in New York
Chapter leaders Vivian Ching and Jennifer Smith attended a UK university alumni cocktail reception at the British Consulate Residence in New York. The guest of honour HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, currently serves as the UK Special Representative for Trade and Investment. (more)

Sainsbury's Headquarters hosted more than 130 alumni and students of the BSc Business Administration programme in May for the first BBA focused alumni event.

The event began with a welcome address by Dean of the School, Professor Richard Elliott, before Bob and Justin took to the stage for an illuminating discussion about Justin’s extraordinary business career. (more)

We were delighted to be able to join with MSc and MBA students to celebrate their degree prior to graduation. The unique setting of the Roman Baths provided a fitting backdrop to the celebrations. (more)
