50th Anniversary

On 25 October 2016 the University of Bath celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

Our 50th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on our success, to share what we have achieved and to celebrate the spirit of enterprise and intellectual discovery that has been at our heart since 1966.

Our programme of activities, which runs until September 2017 will celebrate our achievements and look to the future. It will help us to engage with a range of audiences locally, nationally and across the globe. It seeks to enhance existing, and establish new, relationships which encourage ongoing involvement with the University, whether by building research links, encouraging philanthropic support, or by promoting the full range of University activities and initiatives.

There are several ways you can get involved in our 50th anniversary celebrations. 

Events and Conferences

We have already held a number of academic events and conferences as part of our celebrations - see images, videos and quotes of our year so far.

If you are hosting an event during our 50th anniversary and have any questions around organising your event, please do contact Laura Andrews, Head of Events, who would be happy to provide advice, checklists and templates, to help with the planning of your event.

In June 2015 the University launched its 50th anniversary fundraising campaign to raise £66 million towards research and scholarships.

50th Anniversary visual identity and guidelines

The 50th logo is available to use on materials for all approved anniversary events and activities. Please note that the logo should not be used on any other communications after the anniversary celebration period ends in September 2017.
