Department of Mechanical Engineering

Welcome to Harbin students

harbin-2012The Department of Mechanical Engineering is pleased to welcome students from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in China for a second year.

The students have transferred to Bath on a 2+2 programme. After spending their first two years studying at HIT, they join the BEng Mechanical Engineering programme for a further two years before graduating with two degrees, one from Bath and one from HIT.

Staff from the Department were there to welcome the students at Heathrow Airport and bring them safely to Bath. The students are currently taking part in an bespoke induction programme to ensure they settle in and feel fully prepared for their studies at the University.

Acting Dean of the Faculty, Professor Tim Ibell said: "We're delighted to welcome Harbin students to the University of Bath for another year.  We recognise the significance of our links with such a prestigious institution and look forward to this relationship continuing long into the future."

The students will now be getting ready to join in with the Freshers events taking place at the University over the coming weeks.
