Aerospace Engineering graduate wins 2012 SET Award
Congratulations to Tim Fletcher, who graduated from the BA(Hons) Aerospace Engineering course in summer 2012, for securing the Airbus Award for the Best Aeronautical Engineering Student at the recent Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Student of the Year Awards dinner.
The SET Awards are Europe's most important awards for science and technology undergraduates, providing a showcase for educational excellence by publicly recognising the exceptional achievements of both students and universities. They are presented at a ceremony bringing together hundreds of technology students and academics, as well as senior figures from industry, government, science and the media.
Tim’s winning final-year project, judged by the Royal Aeronautical Society, was Breaking the rules in composite laminate design. Tim has just started as a PhD. student with Dr Richard Butler in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
