Two EPSRC grants and significant support from industry for Department's research
The Language of collaborative manufacturing is a research project by Dr Ben Hicks, Professor Stephen Culley and Dr Linda Newnes, with colleagues in the Department of Computer Science and Professor Chris McMahon, University of Bristol.
The project has received an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) grant of £1,951,554 plus £500k from industry to tool up the team with software and instruments to enable them to undertake the project.
The light controlled factory project, led by Professor Paul Maropoulos, Professor Patrick Keogh and Professor Glen Mullineux with colleagues in the Department of Physics, has received an EPSRC grant of £2,470,392 plus support from ten industrial partners, and collaboration with University College London and the University of Loughborough.
This project will investigate and develop novel and interlinked measurement-enabled technologies
for realising the next generation of factories for the Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) of high
