Mechanical Engineering graduate to train as NASA astronaut
Anne McClain, a graduate from the Department of Mechanical
Engineering, is included in the latest class of trainee astronauts at Nasa. This class of
eight is making NASA history as the first to consist of an equal ratio of women to men.
Anne McClain graduated from the Department in 2004 with an MPhil in Aerospace Engineering;
her thesis was titled 'Aerodynamics of nonslender delta wings'.
