Dr Jos Darling

Profile
Jos Darling is a Senior Lecturer, Undergraduate Admissions Tutor and the Department of Mechanical Engineering Director of Learning and Teaching. His research is in the area of Vehicle Dynamics and Engineering Education, specialising in three-wheeled vehicle dynamics and game-based learning.
Jos studied the measurement and prediction of pressure ripple in hydraulic pumps for his PhD. Following a period in the automotive engineering industry his research has been mainly involved with vehicle dynamics, especially active suspensions, towed vehicles and tilting three-wheeled vehicles. In addition, he has published in Engineering Education journals and is the winner of several national and international prizes for learning and teaching. He was appointed Lecturer in 1988 and Senior Lecturer in 1998.
