Dr Evripides Loukaides

Evripides is a Lecturer in Solid Mechanics and a member of the Materials and Structures group (MAST).

Evripides is an academic member of staff who joined the Mechanical Engineering department in 2016. He has a diverse set of interests, particularly relating to the mechanics of thin structures. Before joining the University of Bath, Evripides was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge. While there, he investigated ways of designing sheet metal forming processes to reduce waste. He was elected a Research Fellow at Darwin College.

Evripides obtained his PhD in the Advanced Structures group at the University of Cambridge on the topic of multi stable shells. He conducted his undergraduate work at MIT and obtained a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics. He also holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Columbia University.
