Media Technology Research Centre

Our interests are wide, but the main concentration is on providing high quality software for composers. The widest used of these programs is Csound which is now an open source, cross platform, free, system which is managed by Bath using Sourceforge. We also have close relations with the Composer's Desktop Project, which incorporates a collection of artistically-oriented DSP software.

Other main activities are in algorithmic composition, performance issues, and audio restoration. We have worked in physical modelling and are currently developing high resolution spectral operations.

In addition most of the associates in the music activity are composers who use the software.

The projects we have been working on, past and present, are linked to on the right.
