Packing for a whole new life
Packing to go to Uni is definitely a challenge. There are lots of boring things to remember (like saucepans and paperwork) as well as more interesting stuff, like your wardrobe options for Freshers’ Week.
Then there's the little things that might make all the difference to having a good time.
Here are my four top tips for making friends and feeling good in your first few weeks:
Tip 1: Bring ridiculous clothes (hats, old t-shirts, anything with sequins etc.) that will give you the edge in the fancy dress stakes.
Tip 2: Bring stuff to stick on your wall – make your room your own from day one.
Tip 3: Bring post-its – for leaving messages on people’s doors.
Tip 4: Put the numbers of a couple of local taxi firms on your phone.
P.S. What to leave behind: your old nickname. It’s a new world out there and you can be who you want to be . . .
