Money advice
Budgeting
It's important to draw up a budget to make sure that you have enough money for day-to-day living costs as well as for accommodation and other expenses.
Though we can offer you advice on how to budget, we are not able to support you financially once you arrive.
Bath is a relatively expensive city because of its location and the excellent quality of life here.
To give you an idea of what to expect explore the budget guides provided by Student Finance and Funding.
International students can build a budget for living and studying in the UK using the International Student Calculator.
Bank accounts
Having an account with a bank branch on or near campus means that managing your finances should be easier.
There are two banks on campus:
- Santander - open Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm (closes at 5pm on Wednesdays)
- Barclays - open Monday to Friday, 10am - 3pm.
International students will be able to open a basic bank account in the UK. You will need to complete registration, pay your fees and move into your accommodation before opening an account. More information for international students opening a UK bank account.
Tuition fees
Tuition fees for each academic year are payable at registration in full or in instalments, you should have been able to arrange this when you registered online. You will be offered a variety of methods in which to pay.
If you make late payments then you may find that you are not able to pay by instalments in the future.
Find out more about paying your fees.
Sponsorship
If you are an International student and hope to receive sponsorship, this should be arranged in your home country before you begin your course.
