Living
As a new undergraduate you'll probably be living in University accommodation (or 'halls') Whether you're on the main campus or the city campus, living in halls is a great way to get to know people and get involved in University life.
- Before you arrive, make sure you know what type of accommodation you've been allocated and what you need to bring.
TV and Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi is available in all campus and city campus accommodation
- the Freewire Telephone service lets you make free calls to anyone in halls or on the Freewire Network.
- if you want a TV set in your room or communal kitchen, or want to watch TV on your computer, you'll need a TV licence (unless you live in Polden Court and Woodland Court ‘C’ Block where the cost of the licence is included).
Food and drink
The Fresh shop on campus offers a comprehensive selection of groceries and fresh food, including a Fresh Oriental section. There's also a wide range of supermarkets in Bath.
There's a great range of bars and eateries on campus - and in Bath you'll be spoilt for choice if you want to eat out.
- if you think you might arrive outside opening hours bring some basic food and drink supplies with you - it's a good way to make friends too
- if you're new to cooking, or want to find out where to source ingredients, Student Cooking TV has lots of information, including specialist shops in Bath and recipes

Taking the bus
Getting to and from campus is easy with frequent buses from Wessex Connect and First Bus (you'll be impressed by how late the buses run).
You'll be able to get discounted bus tickets and passes in Freshers Week.
