“ I was worried about having to share a bathroom because I wasn’t allocated an en-suite room but actually, when I got here, it was fine. ”
— First year student, 2012
Meet your flatmates
When you know where you'll be living, join a group for your accommodation on the Students' Union Facebook page.
“ The few weeks before arriving are always a bit daunting but I found some of my flatmates on Facebook and we got to know each other before we arrived. ”
Accommodation
The deadline for accommodation applications has now passed.
Once you have applied, you can check the status of your application by logging in to the Online Student Accommodation Portal. Keep your contact email address up-to-date here to get the latest information.
When will I hear where I'll be living?
When you hear what accommodation you've been allocated depends on the type of offer you hold, and if you achieve your grades:
- if you have accepted a conditional offer, and you meet your offer grades, you'll receive an email confirming the accommodation you've been allocated in late August/early September 2013
- if you do not meet your offer grades, but are subsequently offered a place, your room allocation will be delayed and you are unlikely to be allocated your preferred choices. You should receive an email confirming your allocated accommodation by 9 September 2013
- if you hold an insurance offer, you'll be able to apply for a waiting list when your offer is confirmed. University accommodation cannot be guaranteed but we'll help you to find private sector accommodation if required.
When can I move in?
Once your accommodation has been confirmed, and you've returned your completed contract, you'll receive arrival and key collection instructions, including maps of the campus and the location of the arrivals centres.
Accommodation contracts start from 21 September 2013 for most students so arrange your travel plans accordingly.
If you have to arrive in Bath earlier than the start date of your contract check VisitBath for details of hotels and hostels in the city centre.
What else do I need to know?
