The University of Bath has been ranked ninth in the UK in this year’s Complete University Guide league table.
The ninth place ranking means that once again Bath is top of the regional ranking for the South-West.
The league table, published today in association with The Independent newspaper, is based on the following nine measures:
- Student satisfaction
- Research assessment
- Entry standards
- Staff student ratio
- Spending on academic services
- Facilities spending
- Good honours
- Graduate prospects
- Completion rates
Professor Glynis Breakwell, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bath, said: “This is excellent news for the University and reflects our commitment to providing a high quality education for our students.
“Colleagues across the University can feel rightly proud of our position in the top ten, particularly our excellent performance in the ‘graduate prospects’ and ’student completion’ aspects of the table.
“This result reflects on the work of the whole University community to create a supportive learning environment which is so crucial in enabling our students to flourish academically.”
Individual subject rankings have also been published in the guide. Bath is ranked sixth in the UK (up from eighth last year) for the percentage of its subjects (77 per cent) appearing in the top ten subject-specific rankings.
The subject rankings have been created using the following four measures: student satisfaction; research assessment; entry standards; graduate prospects.
