The winner of the 2009 Staff Recognition Award is Security Officer Tim Leach.
The award was presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell, at this year’s Staff Recognition Evening held in the Claverton Rooms.
Tim Leach has worked at the University since 2005 in the University’s Security section.
He was nominated by his colleague, Chris Ettle, who said that Tim “has shown great enthusiasm by passing on his knowledge of self-defence techniques to other members of staff and to students, making the students feel a lot more comfortable with regard to their personal safety, whether it be at the University or outside”.
The Staff Recognition Award is made annually to members of staff, other than academics, who have shown initiative, innovation, creativity and who have worked beyond the call of duty to the benefit of the University.
