Appointment of new Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching)

Professor Ian Jamieson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching), will be retiring from the University in December 2009. A Search Committee has therefore been convened to begin the process of appointing his successor.

The role is broader than is often the case and is exceptionally challenging and rewarding. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor is a member of the University’s senior management team and will set the strategic direction for learning, teaching and the student experience within the specific context of the Bath experience.

In order to achieve excellence in learning, teaching and the student experience, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor has management responsibility for the professional services that directly influence our academic provision.

There are also a number of additional responsibilities that naturally belong with a position at this senior level.

Further information, including the job description and details of how to apply, is available at www.bath.ac.uk/pvcvacancy

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 2 September 2009.

Formal interviews will be held on Thursday 1 October 2009.

This vacancy is also being advertised in Times Higher Education. Please note that this does not preclude applications from internal candidates, who are equally welcome to apply for this role.
