Dr Yolande Muschamp to take new role in Dundee

The Department of Education is saying a reluctant farewell to a long-serving and valued member of staff, and its current Head of Department, Dr Yolande Muschamp.

Yolande is moving to Dundee to become Dean of the School of Education, Social Work and Community Education and to take up a Chair in Education.

Her colleagues wish her well and shall miss her as a colleague, collaborator and friend.

Yolande started her career as a primary school teacher and later became an advisory teacher with the County of Avon and in 1990, a Research Fellow  at the University of West of England at Bristol. She joined the University of Bath in 1995 as part of the government funded research team evaluating assessment at Key Stage 2.

During her 14 years at the University she has undertaken a wide range of roles, including developing the Middle Years PGCE course and leading the EdD professional doctorate programme.

This contribution culminated in her promotion to a senior lectureship in 2001 and a successful five year stint as Head of Department and overseeing the build up of core undergraduate courses.
