Former Assistant Director at UKOLN Rachel Heery dies

UKOLN regret to announce that Rachel Heery, its former Assistant Director for Research & Development, died on Friday (24 July) after a long illness.

Rachel joined UKOLN in 1995, and led the R&D Team and later became Assistant Director for Research & Development, until her retirement at the end of 2007.

While based at the University, Rachel made a significant national and international contribution to UKOLN's work on metadata standards and repositories through her leadership of research projects and her involvement with the Dublin Core Metadata Initative.

Our thoughts are with Rachel's family at this very sad time.

The funeral will be held at St Bonaventure's Church, Egerton Road, Bishopston, BS7 8HP on Tuesday 4 August, at 10am.

Donations can be made to St Peters hospice
