Explore life at the University in pictures

For the last two years Web Services has undertaken a Get Creative project during the summer to explore different ways of working together.

This is a valuable exercise for the whole team, which results in better interworking and skills exchange with others; something that is not always possible when solely customer-focused. It also gives the team a chance of finding new ways of working with each other which benefits other projects.

This year the project selected was 'In Pictures': the microsite put together in February to showcase the University in the snow.

At the time the site generated a lot of interest and enthusiasm but it proved difficult to maintain so, since then, it hasn't been promoted. Until now…

The new inPictures site has been designed to be intuitive and easier for Web Services to manage. You can browse or add pictures using the prompts and, by subscribing to RSS feeds, you can keep up-to-date with latest additions.

Web Designer Liam McMurray project-managed the development: "We feel confident we’ve developed a really useful resource for the University community.

"This can now be used for a variety of events and promotions, which will ultimately give us a greater bank of diverse photography to use across our website and applications, and enable us to show what life at the University is like from different perspectives.

"The Get Creative concept was valuable from a team perspective as we dusted off and honed old skills, learnt some new ones, and found new ways of interacting with each other which you don’t normally make time for. It was a really positive experience.”

We are always interested in feedback. Please use the 'We are all ears...' link to tell us what you think.

We hope you enjoy using inPictures as much as we did making it a reality. If you’d like to know more about Get Creative read our blog.
