Monday’s cake and book sale on the Parade raised £410 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Fundraiser Sarah Moore would like to thank everyone who supported her by buying a cake or a book: “I’m amazed at how much was raised, it’s absolutely brilliant. People were taking piles of books away, bags of treats and slice after slice of cake!
“It was a great event. Thanks to all those who provided baked treats and who helped on the day.
“Macmillan do great work and they aim to reach everyone affected by cancer by 2012 and I am pleased to play my part in their mission.”
The event was organised as part of Sarah’s fundraising for Macmillan. In under four weeks Sarah will be getting on her bike and cycling more than 680km (420 miles!) across Central America, on one of the greatest cycling experiences for Macmillan Cancer Support.
