New website: promoting our research

Web Services have now launched a research website as part of the new external website project. The site is the first top level section to be launched and will be followed by a new study area in December.

A beta version of the research site was launched in July and staff were invited to provide feedback on design, content and structure. The feedback was invaluable and led to a number of key changes particularly with regard to the search functionality which has been reviewed.

Alison Kerwin, Head of Web Services, said: “We have introduced new functionality which allows users to search for research staff and/or publications. This opens up our online publications store (Opus) and gives greater exposure to our academics.

We are also highlighting some of our interdisciplinary research and providing easier access to our Centres and Groups. The new site gives us a platform to promote our research more effectively in the future.”

Jane Millar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), commented: “The University of Bath is one of the UK’s leading universities, with a strong profile across a wide range of research areas. This website is an excellent way to showcase our research activities, people, publications, centres, partnerships, impact and news.”

Many thanks to everyone who submitted feedback. Please send any additional comments to sitefeedback@bath.ac.uk
