A funeral service will take place at Haycombe Crematorium on Monday 21 December at 3pm; as space is limited, only family and very close friends are invited to attend.
All Joyce’s University friends are invited to a reception from 4pm in the Claverton Rooms following the service.
Family flowers only please.
Donations can be made via CS Bowyer Ltd Funeral Directors in Bradford-on-Avon, which will be given to Dorothy House and Amnesty International, charities which Joyce passionately supported.

The Students’ Union is very sorry to announce the death, on 12 December, of Joyce Friend, who had only recently retired from her post of Finance Officer in the Students’ Union.
Joyce joined the SU Finance Office in January 1995, and was a highly valued and much loved member of staff, who also contributed a great deal to the wider University community.
She was a member of the Mediation Network, sat on the Equalities & Diversity Committee and was an Officer on the Executive Committee of UNISON.
Those who knew Joyce remember her vibrant personality, huge generosity and her concern for others.
She will be greatly missed by all in the Students’ Union and we send our heartfelt condolences to her family.
