Death of Jim Wadley, former Assistant Registrar

It is with regret that the University announces the death, on 20 December, of Jim Wadley, former Assistant Registrar.

Jim worked at the University from 1974 until his retirement in 1997. He was in his 70th year, and leaves two sons, Mark and Adrian.

Jim joined the University from the University of the West Indies, having previously worked for the University of London.

He was appointed to the Student Affairs division of the Registry. In his later years he also served as the University's Data Protection Officer.

He was, for many years, the organiser of some of the critical moments of each academic year, such as the registration of all students and the major summer graduation ceremonies, and it is in these roles that his friendly and helpful approach will be most remembered by staff and former students.

The funeral will take place on Friday 8 January at 11am at Bothenhampton Church, near Bridport, Dorset.
