University essentially closed today (Fri 8 Jan)

Due to conditions on campus the University of Bath campus will essentially be closed today, Friday 8 January.

All those who are able to work from home are asked to do so.

Any other staff who wish to come on to campus can do so at their own risk but should take great care.

Paths are being cleared as far as possible but, due to limited salt supplies, it has not been possible to clear car parks.

(Update at 11am) The bus services are now running normally.

For those who are on campus already, the Fresh shop will open, staff permitting, between 10am and 2pm.

The Blues Café in the Sports Training Village is the only catering outlet open on campus. It will open from 8.30am until 5pm.  (NB Updated time)

The STV will be open 9am till 5pm.

The Library will be open and self-service facilities are available.

The Emergency Management Team is continuing to keep the position under review and we will post an update on the University website by 4pm today (Friday 8 January) about weekend events, including advice for students returning to campus.

The University’s severe weather telephone line (a recorded message) - 01225 383200 - will also be updated by 4pm today.
